Student Statement of Rights

Oshio college of Acupuncture and Herbology iscertified with the PrivateTraining Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the British Columbia Ministry ofAdvanced Education and Skills Training.
Before you enrol at acertified private training institution, you should be aware of your rights andresponsibilities.
You have the right to be treated fairly and respectfullyby the institution.
You have the right to a studentenrolment contract that includes the following information:
§ amountof tuition and any additional fee for your program
§ refundpolicy
§ ifyour program includes a work experience, the requirements to participate in the work experience andthe geographic area where it will be provided
§ whether the program wasapproved by PTIB or does not require approval.
Make sure you read thecontract before signing. The institutionmust provide you with a signed copy.
You have the right to accessthe institution’s dispute resolution process and to be protectedagainst retaliation for making a complaint.
You have the right to make a claimto PTIB for a tuition refund if:
§ your institution ceased tohold a certificate before you completed an approved program
§ you were misled about asignificant aspect of your approved program.
You must file the claim within one year ofcompleting, being dismissed or withdrawing from your program.
